Well, as they say, no news is good news! There hasn't been much happening around our house. I've been so sleepy and laying around most of the time with headaches. Other than that I'm doing great.
With all my sleeping time, Joe has got some quality study time in! He's averaging a 3.7 GPA in college, which is just fantastic! I'm so proud of him! His school sent him an application in the mail to join an honors society (Phi Beta Kappa - I think). He's really excited about that. He should be! That's an awesome accomplishment!
This morning I started the phyiscal therapy session on my back. The neurosurgeon thought that if I can get the muscles and ligaments strong to support my spine, that I would have a 80% success rate & no need for surgery! WOO HOO!!!! I'm thrilled about that! What I'm not thrilled about, though, was being at the PT at 7:00 this morning! Oh yuck! And imagine - there were other crazy people on the road at that time of the morning, too. What were they thinking????
I stopped at my favorite consignment shop this afternoon on my lunch break to see what type of maternity clothes they had. I can't do up my jeans now. I've got to move up to a bigger size and I'm not quite yet ready for maternity, but I thought I would check out some of the summer clothes, etc. Well, when I got there, I couldn't find the section. The lady said they stopped accepting materinty clothing. BUMMER!!!
But, God works in mysterious ways! When I came home from work, Joe said I had a message on the machine from one of the girls from church. She wants to give me her maternity clothing. I called her back and offered to pay for them. She said she wouldn't accept money as most of the items were given to her. Isn't it wonderful to have a church family so helpful and willing to assist when they can? I certainly hope they will fit me. What a blessing!
This past weekend, Joe bought the baby it's second gift... A set of Dr. Seuss books! He's excited about it. Aunt Jodi sent the baby a book of fairy tales. This was the baby's very first gift! The only thing I've bought the baby is actually for me... Dunstan Baby Language. I saw this lady on Oprah Winfrey a few months ago and she completely amazed me. She has a photographic memory - so to speak - for sound. Anyway, she discovered that all newborn babies, regardless of the mother's native tongue or ethnic background, make a distinctive sound prior to crying. This is the baby's language. If the baby doesn't get what it needs, then it makes it over and over until is screams and cries. So, this DVD / booklet teaches you how to hear the five baby language words. They are:
Neh - hungry
Owh - sleepy
Eh - Upper wind (gas)
Eairh - Lower wind (gas)
Heh - uncomfortable
We'll see how it goes.
My next scheduled doctor's appt is Feb. 29th. It is for bloodwork and a regular pelvic exam. There won't be an ultrasound.
Well, I need to go lay down. Good night!

I've got three children and never have noticed any of those sounds. I'm going to have to really pay attention next time the baby gets fussy so I can put it to the test! When I began reading your post, I thought that you were going to say there was something about Dr. Seuss books that I had missed! LOL Seuss is one of our favorite authors. You're going to be amazed at how quickly your little one memorizes the words to the "Foot Book" and others. There's just something about Suess that they can learn very quickly. Congratulations and I enjoyed reading your blog!
