Dreams - It's a girl

Last night I had the most vivid dream.. It was quite scary! My baby was born with hair, clothes, and jewelry. She was a total DIVA! Strawberry blonde hair with bright baby blue eyes. She came out talking. I can't remember what she said, but she was talking! Oh my gosh!!! I'm a freak!!!

Good news from the doctor!

The bloodwork I had done today resulted in good news! The first draw on Monday, January 21st to test my hCG level was 2800. The draw today was 6600! That's more than double! The doctor told me not to think so much in numbers as that's not what is important. The important issue is that the hormone doubles. So we're doing great!!!

He said the progesterone level was at very high level of 50ng, which is massive. He said that is great because the ovary is protecting the pregnancy well. Most average pregnancies in the first five to six weeks only reach 12-20ng. Most first trimesters will end with a maximum progesterone level at a maximum of 47ng. So needless to say, my body is doing great work!

Here's some info I found on the American Pregnancy Organization website:

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:
hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7,650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0>

Guideline to Progesterone levels during pregnancy:
• 1-28 ng/ml Mid Luteal Phase (Average is over 10 for un-medicated cycles and over 15 with medication use)•

9-47 ng/ml First trimester •

17-146 ng/ml Second Trimester •

49-300 ng/ml Third Trimester

With those figures 6600 hCG and 50ng Progesterone, he said there should be no reason why we can't do an ultrasound next week to see the baby. He said that by next week I'll be at 6 weeks. So we set an appointment for the first ultrasound on Friday, February 01, 2008 at 2:15.

WOO HOOO I can't wait to see this little grain of rice in my belly! hee hee hee!!!

Chinese Gender Chart

Okay, okay, okay - I know this sounds wacky, but let's try it and see....

There is an ancient Chinese Gender Chart that was found in a royal tomb near Beijing. It is said to be over 90% accurate. What you do is match the age you were at conception with the month in which you conceived and that predicts the gender...

Looks like it's a boy...

Now let's wait a few months and see what the doctor has to say!

Due Date

I went to the doctor yesterday and found out the baby's due date is September 25th. How exciting!! It all seems so unreal. The doctor confused me though saying I was 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant based upon the first day of my last menstural cycle, but then turned around and said I probably didn't ovulate until around January 3rd or so. That's why the blood work I had done on January 5th tested negative to the hCG hormone. So actually I'm less than two weeks pregnant, not four. Oh well... He said they go by the menstural cycle not the date of conception.

He said it is too early to do an ultra sound as nothing would show on it. I told him I was concerned because I had a feeling in my lower right side of my tummy that feels like I pulled a muscle when I stand up, turn or move a certain way, or sneeze. He said that is common of two things; 1.) round ligament pain - which is way too early for that or 2.) the cyst on my ovary keeping me pregnant until the placenta is developed is having pressure put on it. Either way it's very normal, but the bad thing there is nothing they can do about it.

He was concerned about the urine sample they took because although it was positive, it was very slightly positive, which could mean one of two things; 1.) I'm extremely early in my pregnancy (hCG is produced and doubles every 48 hours in strength) or 2.) It could be a sign of miscarriage. So the doctor took my blood yesterday and will take it again Thursday morning just to make sure that the hormone is doubled as it should be for a normal pregnancy.

During my exam he did say that my uterus didn't feel swollen or anything, which is another indicator that I'm either very early in the pregnancy or there may be a miscarriage.

So please pray for a healthy, normal pregnancy for me and that we may be blessed with a healthy baby come September. If it's God's will, it will be done.

Love you all!

Choices, Choices

Yesterday afternoon Joe & I went to a baby store in the mall to check things out. The cribs, the crib sets, nursery decor, etc. We left there and went to Babys R Us and found the cutest crib that we both loved. I'll post a picture at the bottom. We've got plenty of time to get that all planned out, though. It's the cleaning out and tossing of items to make the nursery that makes me feel uneasy.

Speaking of un-easy, I experienced my first bout with naseau last night. Okay, that sucked! I was so tired & exhausted and worn out and had a horrible sick stomach on top of that. This is awful feeling at times! Some women say they've never felt better than during their pregnancy... ughhh... REALLY???

By the way, does anyone have bigger jeans I could wear??? LOL
